A little bit of advice for those of you who work in sales for a living. Contrary to popular belief, pointing out a person’s singleness and minor acne problem is not an effective way of convincing themto buy something from you.
IKEA entering the MVNO arena August 5, 2008
Would you like a phone with your Swedish meatballs? Shoppers in the UK will be able to purchase IKEA branded phone service. Much like Virgin Mobile, IKEA feels it can capitalize on the pay-as-you-go model. To kick start the service, they are offering all their UK employees a phone with £5 worth of minutes. I wonder if the plans and phones will follow the naming scheme they use with their furniture.
Interesting Fact for the Day: Microgram August 5, 2008
From Wikipedia:
In the metric system, a microgram is 1/1,000,000 of a gram (1 × 10-6), or 1/1000 of a milligram, is one of the smallest units of weight/mass commonly used. The abbreviation μg is often used in scientific literature, but JCAHO recommends that hospitals do not use this abbreviation in handwritten orders due to the risk that the greek letter μ could be mistaken for an m, resulting in a thousandfold overdose. The abbreviation mcg is recommended instead.
Election Coverage March 5, 2008
So let me get this straight, on Monday yall were so sure that Obama was going to sweep the primaries on Tuesday and that it was time for Clinton to do the right thing and step down from the running. Clinton then precedes to win a couple of the primaries on Tuesday and now suddenly Obama is in trouble and should start thinking about a Clinton/Obama ticket. The delegate difference between the two is almost exactly the same as it was on Monday, but now Obama is losing? Winning a couple primaries means a candidate that lost 12 races straight is a contender again? I wish someone would just admit they’re just talking out their asses to fill 24 hours. I also wish someone would admit that the only reason these are the two choices on the Democrat side is people want to feel good about themselves for voting for the first Woman or African-American president.
